This site is where you can find information on Asher Mains as a musician. Mains’ foundation in music can be found in traditional Grenadian folk rhythms. Mains however has expanded his repertoire to include West African and other global rhythms. He has founded and led two drumming groups, Makofi, in Grenada, and Sankofa in Grand Rapids Michigan. While not currently playing with a group, Mains performs on occasion and otherwise looks to promote concepts of the value of music as an evolving and transforming entity in a globalized society.
